[En ocasiones, cuando el crítico de cine Óscar Rueda acudía, sin más remedio y por motivos de trabajo, a los festivales de Cannes, Berlín o Venecia, o a la entrega de los Oscars, o simplemente cuando deseaba tomarse unos días de asueto para olvidarse de sus paranoicos oyentes, lo sustituía en el programa «Viento de Cine» su colega Hipólito Guzmán, un joven bienintencionado y con espléndidas cualidades.]


—¿El señor Rueda?

—No. Soy Hipólito Guzmán.

—Ah, vaya... En realidad, yo quería hablar con Óscar.

—Bueno, puede intentarlo mañana u otro día.

—Entiéndame. No es que usted me caiga mal, qué va, creo que es usted un tío muy enterao. Pero para mí Óscar es, ¿cómo le diría?, un amigo. Lo siento más cercano. Usted, no se me enfade, me resulta demasiado intelectual, por así decirlo.

—Puede que tenga razón.

—Un poco pedante, pero vamos, no lo tome a mal. No vaya a creer que usted no me gusta. Aunque si tengo que elegir entre Óscar y usted, claro, ¡pues me quedo con Óscar!

—Lo entiendo perfectamente. Yo también me quedaría con él, si pudiera. A mí me pagan la mitad.

—No le veo la gracia. De todas formas, estoy encantado de haber charlado este ratito con usted.

—Lo mismo digo.

—No crea que le tengo tiña. Es sólo que esperaba hablar con Óscar, y luego, así de sopetón, va y se pone usted. Comprenderá que ha sido un shock.

—Por supuesto.

—Una pequeña desilusión; pero vaya, no me malinterprete. Usted me cae bárbaro. Sólo que Óscar me gusta más. Cada uno tiene sus preferencias. Sobre gustos no hay nada escrito.

—No tiene por qué disculparse. De todos modos, hay otros oyentes que están a la espera, y quizá alguno quiera hablar conmigo.

—No. Aguarde. No quiero colgar y que se quede con esa mala impresión. Tal vez le pueda entrar la depre. Me parece que tiene usted un carácter bastante sensible. Quiero estar absolutamente convencido de que no le han afectado negativamente mis palabras. ¿No estará celosillo de Óscar?

—¡Pero qué dice!

—Vaya, ya se me cabrea. Perdone, he formulado mal la pregunta. Entiéndame. Es que como Óscar tiene tanto éxito, y usted aburre a las moscas... ¡No se lo tome a mal! Era sólo un decir.

—¿Qué le parece si hablamos de cine?

—¡Ni soñarlo! Pero, ¿qué se ha creído? De eso, sólo hablo yo con Óscar. Usted es un imbécil. No le soporto. La verdad, ¡váyase al carajo!
