viento de cine — 8 — melodrama

[...]

Mi familia me abandonó. Ahora estoy solo, ¿entiende?

A edad temprana quedé huérfano.

—...

—Desgarrador, ¿no? No puedo dormir. ¿Me oye usted, Rueda? ¡Dormir!

—...

Quiet Please... — The New Best Of Nick Lowe, Disc One

When I Write The Book
By Rockpile

Well I can remember
Like it was only yesterday
Love was young and foolish
Like a little child at play
But oh how lovers change
I never dreamed how easily
For now I'm just a shadow
Of the boy I used to be

And when I write the book about my love
It will be about a man who was torn in half
About his hope and ambition wasted through the years
The pain will be written on every page in tears
When I write the book about my love

I was a fool to myself
When I kept on runnin' around
And I fared little better
When I tried settlin' down
Maybe some magic moment
I have ever known, but not for long
For all too soon the magic
Was in a moment gone

And when I write the book about my love
It'll be a heartbreaking story about love and luck
When I get down on the pages all I felt
It will make the hardest-hearted of critics' hearts melt
When I write the book about my love

When I was young love was fun
And I was so happy
I looked so good
I dressed so snappy
Two-tone shoes on my feet
Big old smile on my face
Cause I moved round over the place
But now I'm down in heels and my complexion is bad
Because my love of life is sadder than sad

And when I write the book about my love
It'll be a pop publication, tougher than tough
When I get down on the pages all I missed
It will shoot to the top of the best-sellers list
When I write the book about my love

sausalito

Los Abatidos
Sausalito

Si necesitas, no importa qué,
allí lo tienes, todo es tuyo, créeme.
Y si estás solo, no importa quién,

Y si estás solo, no importa quién,

Si necesitas, no importa qué,
allí lo tienes, todo es tuyo, créeme.
Y si estás solo, no importa quién,
alguien se acerca y simplemente dice ven.

No quiero marchar de Sausalito.
Déjame soñar, lo necesito.
Quiero imaginar que en Sausalito estoy.

viento de cine — 7 — billy wilder & something in darkness

(1)

—Mr. Rueda?

—Yes. It’s me. Are you English?

—I’m not English. I’m American. I call you from Hollywood.

—And... who are you?

—My name is Billy Wilder.

—The Master! I can’t believe it... That’s wonderful! A pleasure...

—You are stupid. That’s all I wanted to say. Completely stupid. You are a burro.

—But... WHY? I admire you so much... You are one of my gods.

—And you are a poor man. I hate critics. And I hate you... Goodbye, little fool...

(2)

—Señor Rueda, ¿ha visto Something in Darkness?

—Escuchemos a Frank Sinatra cantando «The Way You Look Tonight». Y usted no cuelgue, que tengo aún unas preguntas.

By Paul Simon

Tom, get your plane right on time
I know your part will go fine
Fly down to Mexico
Da-n-da-da-n-da-n-da-da and here I am
The only living boy in New York

I get the news I need on the weather report
I can gather all the news I need on the weather report
Hey, I've got nothing to do today but smile
Da-n-da-da-n-da-n-da-da and here I am
The only living boy in New York

Half of the time we're gone but we don't know where
And we don't know where
Here I am

Half of the time we're gone but we don't know where
And we don't know where

Tom, get your plane right on time
I know that you've been eager to fly now
Hey, let your honesty shine, shine, shine now
Da-n-da-da-n-da-n-da-da
Like it shines on me
The only living boy in New York
The only living boy in New York

Here I am
